Executive Presidency

“The merits and de-merits (of the Executive Presidency) will depend on which side of the political fence one sits on. Unfortunately, what is best for the country will hardly count”

and what’s funny is how every dude who runs for the presidency always puts that slogan “abolition of the executive presidency” in his manifesto, but after he/she gets elected and sees the absolute power that the position holds, will never even dream of getting rid of it…

and now we’re seeing the incumbent using his immense personal popularity to keep the absolute powers that the constitution gives the President… but in all fairness, when was ‘what’s best for the country’ ever considered by the politicos? 😐
