My mistake

Why do I keep saying sorry to you?
What did I do wrong?
Correct me, but was it not you who wanted this?
Oh, I get it now, my grave crime –
To cling on to your every word,
To believe that you loved me,
Like you claimed,
And of course, to love you back,
Only to be left with a broken heart,
Will you ever say sorry?
Of course not.
Why would you? You made no mistake,
The mistake was mine alone,
To have loved you.
